Eruptive syringoma on penis

Syringomas that are localized in penis are rare dermatological condition. Only 6-8  of the cases of  eruptive syringoma of the penis are documented in literature. Though they are asymptomatic papules, one may be worried  to be related to sexually transmitted disease. As its a  atypical localization, it is always necessary to exclude other similar condition like  pearly penile papules, condyloma, lichen planus, and bowenoid papulosis. But as syringomas have a distinct  histopathologic features so it can be easily confirmed with a punch skin biopsy and the patients fears about sexually transmitted disease or cancer can be easily excluded.

As syringomas are harmless so treatment is not necessary. For a cosmetic reasons it can be removed by surgical excision, cryotherapy with liquid nitrogen, electrodessication and curettage. Carbon-dioxide laser may give more successive results. With all these treatment options available, syringoma can still recur frequently and the risk of scarring is a major problem. so there is no any succesful syringoma removal procedure.
